What's an art print?

An art print is a digital artwork printed on high-quality canvas or archival paper.

While we offer original handmade art on occasion, we place more emphasis on prints to build a business that's more sustainable and aligned to a relaxed lifestyle. Don't worry! Our artworks are printed in the highest quality, i.e. gallery quality, resemble a handmade art and last over a lifetime.

What is a giclée print?

Giclée ( pronounced jhee-clay ) is the term coined for the latest generation of fine art reproduction.

Giclée is a high-quality printing technique using microscopic dots and 12 unique coloured inks to achieve exceptional color accuracy and detail. Our giclée prints offer the best possible print quality.

What is archival paper?

Archival paper is a high-quality, acid-free, fine art paper designed to preserve artwork for many years. It's a neutral white, enhanced matte heavy-weight (about 300 gsm) paper ideal for prints that will be displayed for extended periods.

It's the first choice of renowned artists and art galleries.

What is the difference between a giclée print on stretched canvas and a giclée print on fine art paper?

The stretched canvas print option implies that the canvas giclée is stretched on a wood frame with a 1.5” (38mm) profile; the image is mirrored onto the sides of the canvas and is ready to be hung upon delivery.

The giclée prints on fine art paper are made with neutral white, enhanced matte heavy weight (300 gsm) paper, and this option is perfect if you’d like to customize your print with a frame.

What is a hand-embellished canvas print?

After the canvas giclée has been stretched, it is embellished with heavy-body acrylic paint, highlighting certain areas of the print, giving it texture and mimicking the appearance of an original painting. This makes all hand-embellished prints one of a kind.

How do I hang my art?

Framed prints: Use damage-free picture frame hangers or the included nail hangers.

Unframed prints: Use a picture frame or magnetic wood print hanger.

Canvases: Use damage-free canvas hangers or nails.

How do I care for such high-quality art prints?

  1. If possible, wear clean cotton gloves when handling the print. If you don’t have these, then make sure that you wash your hands first to remove any oils.
  2. Do not touch the print surface with your fingers or hands, this could scratch the surface, and oils from your skin can damage the print.
  3. Never allow liquids of any kind to come in contact with a print. Only acid-free, archival materials should come in contact with the front/back of the print.
  4. Framing under glass or acrylic provides the greatest protection against fading from UV light and ozone.
  5. Avoid hanging or storing your print in direct or extremely bright indirect sunlight.
  6. Keep your unprotected prints (before framing) away from sources of ozone, such as monitors and TVs, air purifiers and avoid stacking anything on top of the print.
  7. Avoid excessive temperature and humidity extremes.

What does "made to order" mean?

As part of our sustainability effort, our products are made to order. It means that our products are printed/created just for you. This helps us avoid waste and save storage space.

It also means that what you receive is fresh and in its best possible condition. (and that our products are never out fo stock!)

The product I want is out of stock, what can I do?

Offering "made to order" products means our products are never out of stock. However, some discontinued variants from the manufacturer might show up as "out of stock".

If you wish to order them, contact us here with your enquiry and we'll notify you as soon as it's available.

Shipping, Returns & Cancellations

What are your shipping times?

Since our artworks and products are made to order, it takes us 1-2 weeks from placing the order to create, pack and ship it for you. It then depends on where you live, but give it a week for it to get to you. If it is still not there after 3 weeks of placing the order, we will work with you to resolve the issue, whether that means resending the order or issuing you a refund.

If you're planning to order something as a gift to be received on or before a certain date, we request you to back-calculate the order placement date accordingly.

Additionally, you could choose to send a gift card which is delivered via email and can be scheduled for receiving on your chosen date.

What are your shipping charges?

We are pleased to provide free shipping in India on all orders over Rs. 1000.

Please know that as a small studio, shipping & handling is a significant cost to us. "Free shipping" means that we pay for shipping.

I live outside India. Can I still buy your products?

We're working on partnering with the best courier companies to enable International Shipping. We'll notify you through our newsletter as soon as we're ready!

I placed an order but I entered the wrong address, what can I do?

Contact us as soon as possible with your order ID. We will try rerouting your order. If that isn't possible, an additional shipping fee will be applicable to re-send your package to the correct address.

Do you offer returns/refunds?

Since our products are made to order (they are printed/created just for you), we are unable to offer returns, refunds or exchanges unless the item arrives damaged.

Please carefully consider your purchase before ordering, so we can all help to reduce waste.

We allow cancellations only if the order has not been dispatched.

Gifting & e-Gift Cards

Can the products be personalised?

To some extent, yes. Please contact us here with product name and variant and details on personalisation.

While we cannot guarantee 100% personalisation, we'll work with you to arrive at a satisfactory resolution. However, you can always include a personalised message that we'll hand-write and send on your behalf.

Can I order a gift without revealing the price?

Yes; we offer gift receipts where you/gift recipient gets a proof of purchase but the price is not revealed.

Do you offer gift wrapping?

Yes; we do offer gift wrapping which is a beautiful paper wrap and your personalised message. However, gift wrapping costs are not included in the product price.

Keeping waste and sustainability in mind, we don't offer more elaborate gift wrapping options.

Do you offer expedited shipping if the gift needs to arrive by a specific date?

We could try depending on the product and your/recipient's location. Please email us at thehraavstudio@gmail.com before placing a gift order and we'll tell you whether the gift could be delivered by a specific date.

In general, it takes us 1-2 weeks to dispatch and another week for the product to reach someone within India.

What is an e-gift card?

An e-gift card is a digital gift card that can be redeemed for products or services on our website. It's a convenient and thoughtful way to give the gift of choice.

How does the e-gift card work?

To redeem an e-gift card, simply enter the unique code at checkout. The gift card amount will be applied to your order total. If the order total exceeds the gift card amount, you can pay the difference using other accepted payment methods.

Can I use multiple e-gift cards in one transaction?

Currently, only one e-gift card can be used per order.

Can I return an e-gift card?

E-gift cards are non-refundable and non-returnable.

Do e-gift cards expire?

Our e-gift cards are valid for redemption 2 calendar years from the date of purchase.

Can I schedule the delivery of the e-gift card?

Yes, you can schedule the delivery of the e-gift card for a specific date during the checkout process.

Can I personalise the e-gift card message?

Yes, you can add a personalized message to the e-gift card during the checkout process.

Can I send the e-gift card directly to the recipient?

Yes, you can enter the recipient's email address during checkout and the e-gift card will be sent directly to them.

As a result, each commission becomes not only an expression of our creativity and vision, but also a vibrant reflection of the client’s true desire.

I have a unique artwork request. Can you help me with that?

Many people, including interior designers, have trouble finding a painting that is the right size and/or colour for their space. As a result, we offer a few commissions every month.

To get started, contact us here and tell us what you have in mind. We'll give you a price based on the size and complexity of the piece.

Commissioned artworks are one of a kind and are never sold on the shop. We might display them, though, with your permission.

Do you accept wholesale orders? What's the MOQ?

Yes, we take wholesale orders on most of our products and offer attractive discounts. The minimum order quantity (MOQ) for wholesale is 20 units of the same item.
